Hi, welcome to my site. I come from a family of master builders, and have over 20-years experience working in the trades, specialising in woodwork and garden living areas. I have a great deal of general building experience in all fields, and that enables me to also carry out many works around the house. I live in Ditchling with my family, having moved here from Brighton 3 years ago. Take a look at my previous works here, and please feel free to get in touch with any enquiries

Recent Project: Serene Garden Seating & Storage Redesign, East End Lane, Ditchling
Overview:
Working from the client’s initial plan, I reimagined a shaded garden corner into a practical yet tranquil seating area. The existing shed was reduced by 75%, but overall storage was maintained through under-deck compartments and custom waterproof benches clad in reclaimed teak.
Design Highlights:
-
Raised decking to introduce natural light into a previously shaded space.
-
Custom storage solutions that blend seamlessly with seating, maximizing functionality while minimizing footprint.
-
Material choice: reclaimed teak for durability, weather resistance, and aesthetic warmth.
Outcome:
A beautiful outdoor living space that balances comfort, practicality, and visual appeal, turning a formerly underutilized area into a light-filled garden retreat.

Rasied Beds
Using reclaimed timber and ancient traditional wood treatment techniques, I love to make things that are built to last. These raised beds are built on bricks and tiles for added drainage, using recalimed oak, and treated with Pine Tar – an old viking boat treatment that outlasts all modern materials. The fact that it is non-toxic also makes it perfect for your vegetable patch.

Shed restoration
This shed has now benefited from an upgraded roof after it had previously been leaking for two years. The new roof is much stronger, using 18mm OSB and structural timber supports, with double layer felt and 5 ltrs of adhesive – it wont be leaking again! The outside is now being sanded back and treated with wood oil – the left hand side of this picture is as it is now, the right hand side is how it looked previously, with greyed and weathered wood.

Fencing
Durable fencing solutions for privacy and style, built from scratch or by using pre fabricated panels to accomate budgets and needs. The posts in this picture are mounted in steel brackets that are concreted into the ground above the water level – a detail that ensures they will not rot from the base.

Extensions
A large 8 meter by 2.5 meter vernada built to the rear of this house in Ditchling, transformed a north facing area of the garden into a useful retreat. It has since been fitted with premium suspended decking (updated pictures to follow)

Compost Bins
Premium compost bins built using reclaimed pallets. The inside of these bins were treated with Pine Tar to seal the wood from water ingression and prevent decay. They were then lined with galvanised steel mesh to stop pests getting into them, and fitted with lids and front slats

Wood Stores
This compact wood and bin store was built to match the existing bike lockup on the right hand side of it. I had to match the style and dimmensions, use similar hardware, and mirror the deisgn so that it blended in nicely.
